Chapter One, Paragraph One –


JANE ACE, laser of traced persons, with his easy wife, Ace, glowered under the breakfast table at the murky dawn’s approach... Dot, their fondly handled, indubitable dog, approached. “Woof” woofed Dot. “Dot” woofed back, for the roof had fallen into echoes. “See dear,” spoke Easy, “There’s not a spot on the roof,” as the day tumbled to its woofdom. All mourned, night and daily, but all the tiles all had been out on could not put doggydom together again. So the tiles roofed and the doggies woofed and we all went out to sit under the spreading trees and under the hydrants sprinkled about the lawns. The fan waved to and fro in the fire chief’s hand but had nothing to say.
