Poem Beasts

The Warbor (Little War)

A dull cause for excitement

‘Modern Times’ have become far too dizzy
to stop this merry-go-round wooden beast
from endlessly xeroxing itself.
War games, at first fun,
come to dead ends.
But these ends run, regroup and rearm themselves.
The exciting climax of all this pseudo-activity
begins to stink.
Why do warbors think peace as violence?
To catch the golden ring?
No. The wooden beast must sacrifice innocence
to balance the necessities
                         of woodenness.
